Sargun Mehta is an Indian Television Actress, Film Actress, Model, TV Presenter, and Soap Opera Actress who is well-known for her several TV serials. She made her TV debut in the popular TV show “12/24 Karol Bagh” which was aired on Zee TV.
Sargun Mehta was born on 6 September 1988 in Punjab, India. Her nickname is Jiya. She hails from the city of Chandigarh. She was born into a Hindu family. Her parents are father Harish Mehta and mother Aradhana Mehta. She has a younger brother named Pulkit Mehta.
She did her schooling from Sacred Heart Convent School, Chandigarh. Later, she went to Carmel Convent School, Chandigarh to complete her higher secondary education. She obtained her degree in B.Com (Honours) from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University.
She has been into theatres from her college days. She had planned to pursue her Master’s Degree in Marketing from the UK. She began her acting career in the year 2009 by acting in the popular television show 12/24 Karol Bagh which was aired on Zee TV.
She participated in a reality show “Nach Baliye 5” with her boyfriend Ravi Dubey, who proposed to her on 5th February on the sets of the show and eventually their dating relationship lasted for few years. Later, they both got married on 7th December 2013.
As per critics, this was arguably one of the best roles of her acting career. After this series, she has become a regular in the television series playing lead or the supporting roles.
She established herself as a leading actress, when she appeared in the Colors TV drama series “Balika Vadhu” in 2013. She played the lead role in Ekta Kapoor’s hit show called “Kya Huaa Tera Vaada”. After this series, she was mostly seen in reality shows as a participant or guests on the show.
She participated in the comedy reality show “Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe” in which she was paired opposite Kapil Sharma. A year later though, she had to quit the show because of her other work commitments.
She participated in the fifth season of the dance reality show “Nach Baliye” with Ravi Dubey as his partner. They emerged 1st runner up of the show. In 2013, she also hosted the dance reality show “Boogie Woogie Kids Championship”.
In addition to the small screen, she has established herself as an actress to reckon with in Polly wood film industry. She made her silver screen debut with the Punjabi film “Angrej” in 2015.
She was next seen in the role of Jessica Brar in the super hit Punjabi film “Love Punjab” in 2016. For her performance, she was awarded the “Best Actress Award”.
She was recently seen in the Punjabi film “Lahoriye” in which she starred alongside veteran Punjabi actors like Arminder Gill, Navraj Hans, and Nimrat Khaira among others.
