EARLY LIFE
Ranbir Kapoor was born on September 28, 1982, in Mumbai to Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor. His family from generations is into films. Ranbir Kapoor is the great-grandson of actor and director Raj Kapoor and grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor.
His elder sister Riddhima was born in 1980 and she is an interior and fashion designer. Even his cousins Kareena and Karisma Kapoor are also into Bollywood.
He completed his schooling at Bombay Scottish School, Mahim, and his pre-university education from the H.R. College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. Later he joined in School 0f Visual Arts, New York, and then Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, New York.
CAREER
Ranbir Kapoor started his career as an assistant director on the films Aa Ab Laut Chalen(1999) and Black(2005). Then he was cast against Sonam Kapoor in Saawariya directed by Sanjaya Leela Bhansali in 2007 but it was a failure.
After the failure of Saawariya, he was contracted for the movie Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008 directed by Siddharth Anand in Yash Raj Films banner.
2009 was a great year for Ranbir Kapoor because he had three film releases they are Wake Up Sid, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani, and Rocket Sing: Salesman Of The Year.
In 2009 Kapoor has received Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor Award for his performance in all three movies at 55th Filmfare Awards.
In 2010 Kapoor had a remarkable film Raajneeti which has earned 600 million investments and 1.43 billion World Wide. Apart from the commercial success, he had been nominated Best Actor at Filmfare.
In the same year, he was seen with Priyanka Chopra in the movie Anjaani. Later he did an item number in the movie Chillar Party in 2011.
He was even seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, he learned to play guitar for the movie from A.R. Rahman’s music studio. For the movie, Rockstar Ranbir was awarded Best Actor and Best Actor(Critics) in the 57th Filmfare Awards and IIFA. Rockstar was one of the top-grossing Hindi movies.

In the same year, the 2015 Kapoor movie Tamasha was directed by Imtiaz Ali. His career gradually improved in 2016 when his movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil directed by Karan Johar starring Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai. The movie earned Kapoor Best Actor Nomination at Filmfare.
In 2017 Kapoor started his career as a producer for his movie Jagga Jasoos directed by Anurag Basu and the co-star Katrina Kaif. This movie did not reach the expectations which made Kapoor regret to start his production house named Picture Shuru Productions.
In 2018 Kapoor is seen as actor Sanjay Dutt in the biopic Sanju. This movie was one of Indias’ biggest earned cinemas. He won another Best Actor Award at Filmfare.
As of 2019, Ranbir has 3 upcoming projects. He will be seen opposite Alia Bhatt in the movie Brahmastra. He committed to play with Ajay Devgn in Luv Ranjan and in Shamshera with Vaani Mukerji and Sanjay Dutt.
Brahmastra, a superhero film is all set to release on 9th Sept 2022. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan
PERSONAL LIFE
Ranbir told that his parents’ marriage taught him a lesson of how complex a relationship can be.
He had his first girlfriend in the 7th grade and went into depression when it ended and took a long time to come out of it.
In 2008 Ranbir started dating Deepika Padukone. They went viral but later they broke up and Deepika was in depression for over 6 months. Later they worked together after a long time in the movie Tamasha.
Later in 2013 rumors about Ranbir and Katrina Kaif were going around the town as they were found at a beach in Spain. They both agreed about their relationship publicly in the media but in 2016 they broke up.
In the staring of 2018 the media reported that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir are dating, Alia told it publicly in an award function when she was giving a speech for winning the Best Actress Award. That clip went viral.
He was so depressed when his father Rishi Kapoor left the world. His father died on 30th April 2020. He died due to Leukemia
