Payal Rohatgi born in Hyderabad to Shashank Rohatgi and Veena Rohatgi in the year 1984. Her father Shashank Rohatgi is a Chemical Engineer and her mother was a Supervisor Teacher. She has a brother named Gaurav Rohatgi who is an Electronics Engineer and currently working for his Family Business in Ahmedabad. She doesn’t have any Sister.

Her family was shocked when she informed them that she wants to choose Acting as her Career as her family was not from a film background. Her journey started by participating in the Miss India Competition.
She started her career with the Femina Miss India Pageant in the year where Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, and Dia Mirza are also part of the competition.
Because of her performance and Glamour, she was Awarded with “Supermodel Miss Tourism World” in 2002. After that Rohatgi started doing Advertisements for various brands like Amul, Nirma, Nescafe, Dabur Hair Oil, Jaguar Bath Panel,etc., She gained more popularity by featuring in Cadbury’s Temptations Ad.
She also appeared in several music videos by rock band, Silk Route and Indipop artist, KK. In 2002 she made her debut film “Ye kya Kahte Hai?”
She got a breakthrough with a role in Big Budget Bollywood Film “36 China Town”. In 2006, she appeared in one of the chartbuster songs of the year which is an item song in the film “Corporate”.
This Incident gave an opportunity for payal to participate in lot of Stage Performances through which she became very popular. Payal made her Theatre debut with the producer and Director Vandana Sajnani’s play called “Fourplay” in the year 2010.
She said “I thoroughly enjoyed working with a lady director for the first time in my career”. And she revealed that Theatre medium is powerful when compared to films and Television.
Rohatgi was part of the film “National Anthem” which has 70 Indian Celebrities and released worldwide 150 Countries in August in the year 2014. For designers like Nitya Bajaj Birla, Sanjana Jon and Archana Kochhar Rohatgi have “walked the ramp” as the show stopper.

She was engaged with her boyfriend Sangram Singh who is a wrestler since 2007 and both are going to marry soon. She says that she gets more motivation from her partner Sangram Singh.
