She started her YouTube page in 2010 and since then, her videos have gained over 13 million subscribers and over 2 billion views.
Early Life
Lilly Singh, who is easily one of the most famous Canadians of today’s era, was born on the 26th of September 1988 in Scarborough, Toronto, where she was brought up in the same place.
From her young age, Lilly has always been like tomboy and remnants of her tomboy era can be seen all over her social media and viral videos. She did her schooling from Mary Shadd Public school, Scarborough, Canada.
She completed her secondary education from Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute, Scarborough, Canada. She did her Bachelor of Arts from York University where she graduated with a degree in Psychology.
During her final year in school, Lilly struggled with depression, which led to her turning to make YouTube videos as a way to overcome with her feelings. Her parents father Sukhwinder Singh and mother Malwinder Singh, were originally from Punjab, India.
Lilly and her elder sister, Tina was raised as Sikhs. The YouTuber has a strong connection to her Punjabi legacy, which has only strengthened over time during her several visits to India.
Later, they moved to Los Angeles for further her career, Lilly lived with her parents in Markham, Ontario.

Being a YouTuber, Yousef is also a rapper, comedian, actor, prankster, and vlogger. He is of Palestinian Origin, attended San Jose State University before relocating to Los Angeles to pursue a career.

In 2017, she was listed in the Forbes list of the highest paid YouTuber in the world. Since 2014, she has been featured every year in the annual YouTube Rewind. The YouTube Rewind is a selection of viral videos, memes, music, and events that trended during the year.
She had also ranked number one on Forbes list of Top Influencers in entertainment category. One of the young Canadian woman had achieved so many awards for her artistry including several Streamy Awards, two Teen Choice Awards alike MTV Fandom Award, and a People’s Choice Award.
Lilly released her first feature film A Trip to Unicorn Island in the year 2016. That movie was a documentary which chronicled her ambitious 27 city world tour. It also made $6.3 million on a budget of $400,000.
In 2017, she released her debut book “How to be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life”. Besides having one of the most followed/subscribed channels on YouTube, she also has over 7 million followers on Instagram.
