She was born on 14 April 1981 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. She started her acted career as a model. After a successful career in Modeling, she decided to start acting. At a point in time, she was considered a golden leg in the Telugu film industry. She has done many blockbuster movies in Telugu.
She worked for top brands like BSNL mobile, Sunsilk, EverYuth, Boroplus, Moov, Parle Krackjack, 1+ mobile, Vivo mobile, and many others. She worked in both small and big screens as well.
Anita belongs to a Hindu family. Her father is a businessman and mother Kavita Hassanandani is a home-maker. She has one elder sister. She got engaged to her small screen co-star, Eijaz Khan.
But they broke-up in 2010 due to Eijaz’s closeness with Canadian singer, Natalie De Luccio. On 14 October 2013, she married Rohit Reddy in Goa. He is a corporate professional. The couple is blessed with a baby boy on 9th Feb 2021.
In 2001, the first shot with the serial “Kabhii Sautan Kabhii Sahelii”. She received huge recognition for playing the role of “Tanushree” in this serial. Before this, she made her debut in the Bollywood movie “Taal” in 1999, in the song Ishq Bina.
Later, she appeared as Natasha in the movie “Kuch Toh Hai” in the year 2003. She acted in the Tamil movie named “Varshamellam Vasantham”. After that, she worked with two Bollywood movies “Koi Aap Sa” and “Krishna Cottage” which was a supernatural thriller movie.
Her famous Tollywood movies are Nuvvu-Nenu, Nenu Pelliki Ready, Thotti gang, Nenunnanu, Sreeram, Ninne Ishtapadanu. She played many leading roles and comic roles in Tollywood movies.
Nuvvu-Nenu movie was remade as “Ye Dil” in Hindi with Tusshar Kapoor. She became popular for her lead role as Anjali in the popular television series “Kkavyanjali” in 2003.
For this role, she won the Indian Television Academy Award and also the Indian Telly Award. Since 2013, she is appearing as Shagun Arora in Bollywood famous serial “Ye Hai Mohabbatein”.
Currently, she is playing an opponent role, Vish Khanna in the third season of Ekta Kapoor’s Naagin 3. Anita has hosted in TV shows like Comedy Nights Ka Jadoo and Code Red. She was a part of Comedy Nights Bachao.
In 2008, she performed in “Fear Factor- Khatron Ke Khiladi”. She took participation in the reality dance show “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa”. She was a wild card entry. She had also participated Bigg Boss 10, Nach Baliye 8, Bigg Boss 11 and more.
In 2014, she achieved Golden Award for “Best Actress in Negative Role Popular”. In 2015, she got an award named “Television Style Award for Most Stylish Vamp”. She acted in multi-language films and serials.

Anita Hassanandani and her husband Rohit Reddy will feature in the video a song sung by Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The video of the song, “Teri Yaad“, has been directed by Raj Kundra and Robin Behl.
The actress commenting on her first on-screen outing with her husband, Anita said in a statement: “‘Teri Yaad is a lovely romantic track and when Raj asked us to feature in the video, it didn’t take us long to say yes”.
She also stated “Apart from working with Rohit, the song has been beautifully written and composed by Sunny Brown. We hope the viewers love it.”
The video was released on February 8.
