Sumona Chakravarti is an Indian Television actress, model, and comedian. She is a member of the famous comedian reality show “The Kapil Sharma Show”.

Sumona Chakravarti made her acting debut as a child artist at the age of 10 years in a movie “Mann” starring the actors like Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Manisha Koirala.

In the next few years, she has done a few TV shows but her big breakthrough happened in 2011 when she played a role of Natasha in the Television show “Bade Achhe Lagte Hain”, produced by Balaji Telefilms.

In the following year, she participated with Kapil Sharma in a comedy show “Kahani Comedy Circus Ki” on Sony Entertainment Television. The pair emerged as the winners of the show.

From there on she began her professional partnership with Kapil Sharma that is still continuing. From June 2013 to January 2016 she appeared as the Kapil Sharma’s wife “Majnu Sharma” in “Comedy Nights with Kapil”.

In 2010, she made her debut film with a lead role in “Aakhari Decision”. She made her Television debut with “Hows that” in 2007, which was aired in DD National channel.

Sumona Chakravarti was born on 24 June 1986 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Her parent’s details are not known will be updated soon. She has a younger brother named Shivargha Chakravarti, who is a Chef by profession.

Initially, she did her schooling from Loreto Convent School in Lucknow. Later, their family moved to Mumbai and then she completed her school education in Hiranandani Foundation School located in Powai, Mumbai.

She has obtained her graduation from Jai Hind College, Mumbai. She pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She was in a relationship for several years with her family friend Samrat Mukherjee, who is a Bengali Actor.

In 2005, she is one of the contestants of the “Miss Mumbai”. She is the finalist of Streax Savvy cowl girl contest in 2006. In 2009, she made her Theatre debut from English musical play, “Da Dating Truths”.

She entered the television world after playing a Bhojpuri film referred to as Awanish with the Sab TV serial known as “Kab Kyon Kaise”. Later, she has appeared in the show “Kasamh Se” telecast over Zee TV and the Bindaas serial referred to as “Sun Yaar Chill Ma”.

She also played a cameo role in the movies “Barfi” and Salman Khan’s “Kick” in 2014. In 2012, she got fame from the role she played in the TV show “Bade Acche Lagte Hain”.

In the same year, along with comedian Kapil Sharma, she worked in the comedy reality show “Kahani Comedy Circus Ki” which was aired on Sony TV. After that, she has been a part of Comedy Nights with Kapil from 2013 to 2016.

She is the second runner-up of “Times of India Mr. & Miss Perfect 2004”. She had also worked in several Ad films. She also appeared in a small-series “Ek Thhi Naayka” alongside Mauli Ganguly and Yash Tonk, which was produced by Ekta Kapoor.

Besides this, she has done two travel shows such as “Dubai Dairies” and “Swiss Made Adventures” on NDTV Good Times. While she was the host in Dubai Dairies, she participated in Swiss Made Adventures, which was the adventurous side of Switzerland.

Currently, she is working on the TV show “The Kapil Sharma Show”. She is seen playing the role of Sarla Gulati, a girl deeply in love with her neighbour Kapil Sharma.

She has been well-known faces in an Indian Television Industry. She has gained huge fan followers on her social media platform too. She had more than 660K followers on Instagram and her fans following is rapidly growing.
